UFC Long Island Results – Ortega vs. Rodriguez
The July 16 UFC Long Island fight card from UBS Arena in Elmont, New York is headlined by a featherweight bout by top 145-pounders, Brian Ortega and Yair Rodriguez.
Rodriguez told The MMA Hour on Monday that UFC officials have promised him a title shot if he comes out victorious against Ortega.
Rodriguez and Josh Emmett are tied at number three in the UFC featherweight rankings. The only men above them on the list are former champion Max Holloway and Ortega.
The co-main event slot pairs the returning Michelle Waterson against the surging Amanda Lemos.
Also, former UFC women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate opens up the main card against Lauren Murphy.
Preliminary fights begin at 11 am ET on Saturday, while the main card starts at 2pm ET.
