UFC on ESPN 7 results – UFC DC – Overeem vs. Rozenstruik
The UFC hits Washington D.C. on Saturday night with UFC on ESPN 7. The UFC DC event is headlined by a heavyweight bout between former title contender Alistair Overeem and rising star Jairzinho Rozenstruik. The event takes place at the Capital One Arena.
Walt Harris was originally scheduled to meet Overeem in the main event but had to withdraw from the contest after tragedy struck his family.
A pair of strawweights take the co-main event spot at Marina Rodriguez meets Cynthia Calvillo at 115-pounds. Yesterday, Calvillo missed weight by 4.5 pounds coming in at 120.5 pounds for the contest which was set for a 116-pound maximum weight limit.
Also, Stefan Struve returns from a brief retirement to take on the extremely well-rounded Ben Rothwell at heavyweight.
Good Lord…. what a way to kick off the card. Makhmud Muradov defeated Trevor Smith in the opening bout with a third round knockout that spun Smith around and sent his mouthpiece flying across the octagon.

Joe Solecki moves to 9-2 after dominating more than 12 minutes of his 15-minute bout against Matt Wiman. Although Wiman was being completely outclassed he refused to give up. The judges ruled the fight unanimously in favor of Solecki.
Absolutely dominating performance by Bryce Mitchell who becomes just the second fighter in UFC history to win by twister submission. Mitchell submitted Matt Sayles in the very first round with the extremely rare finisher.

These fights are non-stop action tonight in D.C. Billy Quarantillo dominated every second of his fight against late comer Jacob Kilburn. It was absolute beat down from start to finish.
Tim Means comes back from a nasty leg break to finish former welterweight title contender Thiago Alves in the very first round with a guillotine choke submission.
Aspen Ladd takes the fight to Yana Kunitskaya and wins with a third round TKO.
After two shots below the belt, Stefan Struve folds to Ben Rothwell near the end of the second round. Tough fight to watch.
The night’s co-main event….. another majority draw.
The main event…… what can you say? Lackluster ….. until the dog won. Rozenstruik finishes the extremely seasoned Overeem with just 4 seconds to go. WHAT?
