UFC Returns to London
UFC (Ultimate Fighting Champion) is without a doubt one of the world’s leading mixed martial arts organisations. The company hosts fights in a number of different countries, including the United Kingdom. If you know anything about the United Kingdom then you will know that many of its citizens are fight fanatics, whether it’s boxing, jujutsu or MMA.
The last fight held in London was several months ago. This summer, however, it is returning. If you are somebody who is interested in the UFC and happens to live in London, England’s capital city, then this post will tell you everything you need to know.
Sports Betting
Before delving into this post’s primary topic and exploring the UFC’s return to London, mention must first be given to sports betting. Betting is an immensely popular pastime in the United Kingdom and among sports fans in general. People have made fortunes for themselves betting on the outcomes of UFC matches. If you are somebody who’s interested in betting this summer, then you need to find a reliable casino to use. To do that read reviews like those published on Casinojungle or on one of the internet’s other betting review sites. Bear in mind some sites are region specific, i.e., tailor only to Canadians or Americans. Find a site that can be used in your country.
When you are intending on placing bets of any kind you need to conduct extensive research and make sure that you educate yourself about the spot and those involved in it. Unless you are completely confident in your abilities to place bets, betting on sports is unwise. You may want to consider working with a handicapper. A handicapper is a professional bettor who uses their expertise and knowledge to help clients place more profitable bets.
UFC London, July 22
Last week, Dana White, the UFC’s president, announced that on July 22 a UFC Fight Night Event will be held at London’s famous O2 Area. The O2 Arena is used for a range of different things from musical events to sports matches. Of course, seats at the venue are abundant but when you consider the British people’s love for combat sports, it is not hard to see why they will sell out fast. If you plan on going, then you need to make sure that you secure tickets as early as you can. Leaving bookings until the last minute will probably result in you being turned away. Tickets will be explored in more detail later on in this post.
This year’s UFC Fight Night is the second held in London this year. UFC 286 was held at the O2 Arena back in March, featuring fighters Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman. Edwards retained the welterweight title by majority vote. If you are interested in finding out who is going to be fighting in July’s event then you need to follow blogs and sites dedicated to the UFC and everything that is going on in the company and with its fighters.
Pay-per-view Event
Of course, not everybody who is a fan of the UFC is able to get to the O2 Arena to watch this summer’s fight. Individuals interested in seeing it in spite of their inability to get to the venue will be pleased to know that it is possible for them to see it live on television. Of course, if you live in a part of the world where the fight is not being broadcast on network television then you can watch it online. Watching it online can be just as immersive as seeing it in person.
It does need to be noted, there are a number of websites pirating the UFC’s stream. If you are caught watching such a stream you can get into a lot of trouble. Pay-per-view piracy is taken very seriously by the police and the UFC. One other thing to think about is your time zone. If you are not based in the United Kingdom then you will need to research the nation’s time zone (which is GMT+ 0) and ensure you are up, prepared to watch the fight when it is broadcast. An alternative to watching it live is turning off all of your socials, going to sleep, and then watching the fight on replay the next day.
Securing Tickets
As mentioned previously, tickets for this event are bound to sell out quickly. If you are planning on going to see the fight in person then you will need to buy the ticket as early as you can. The sooner you buy your ticket, the better the seats you will be able to reserve. Bear in mind that by booking early you also save yourself the disappointment of leaving bookings until the last minute and having to pay a premium or not being able to get tickets at all.
Outside of all UFC events (and all events in general), you can find people selling scalped tickets. Such tickets are usually genuine although it’s not uncommon for people to sell fraudulent tickets or ones that have been stolen. If you end up buying tickets that are not genuine then you could be turned away at the door. It is very important that you only buy tickets from a genuine ticket provider, of which there are many online. Always read a ticket provider’s reviews before you buy anything from them or use their service.
Responsible Behaviour
Lastly, if you plan on going to see a UFC fight in person, you need to make sure that you behave responsibly and follow the venue’s rules. While these fights can indeed be very exciting, it is not uncommon for people to get carried away, break rules, and get themselves kicked out. Misbehaviour of any kind is not tolerated at UFC events and security is always very tight. Make sure that you are on your best behaviour and if you plan on drinking, drink responsibly. Drinking more than you can handle is one of the easiest ways to lose your cool.
The UFC will be returning to London on July 22nd of this year. If you are a fan of mixed martial arts then why not go and see it? To find out more about the event keep track of the UFC’s official site and the press releases issued on it.
