VanZant Eyes Revenge On Torres
Paige VanZant was too young to compete in the reality show “The Ultimate Fighter,” since there is alcohol in the house. This was not an issue, as the 20 year old straw weight competitor earned a spot on UFC Fight Night against Kailin Curran, and VanZant capitalized on her opportunity to show that she belongs in the UFC by scoring a third round TKO victory.
VanZant has now amassed a 4-1 professional record, with the only blemish coming from a decision loss to Tecia Torres (4-0) who is currently fighting for her chance to claim UFC gold on this season of TUF.
“That was a fluke in my fight game. I went in there not ready. I wasn’t prepared for that fight,” said VanZant regarding her loss.
She continues, “Of course, I took a loss and I’ll take that loss and wear it. But I’m very excited to hopefully get a rematch with her and avenge that loss”.
Their first fight happened at Invicta 4 back in January 2013.
VanZant says she is ready for whomever her new employer puts in front of her to fight, however, she welcomes the opportunity for a rematch against Torres if the offer were to arise. Until then, VanZant can sit back and enjoy her successful debut victory last week on UFC Fight Night.
