Video: Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal in altercation on Super Bowl Radio Row
If there was any time for reigning UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and ‘BMF’ champion Jorge Masvidal to face each other for the division’s title, it’s now. Masvidal finds himself in the top of the contender rankings at welterweight and his recent resume with wins over Nate Diaz, Ben Askren, and Darren Till, he’s in the mix for a title fight against the champion.
While many have said that the bigger money fight for Masvidal was against former lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor, there seems to be a rivalry growing between Masvidal and Usman. The bad blood between the two was on full display at Radio Row for Super Bowl week down in Miami.
Andy Nesbitt of For The Win was on sight when the Usman and Masvidal started exchanging words and shared video of the altercation.

Usman can be heard telling Masvidal that all he does is talk and encouraged Masvidal to approach him while both fighters were being held back. Masvidal can be heard telling Usman that he’s lucky he has a cast on his hand, to which the champion asked if he was afraid of a cast.
While there were no punches or shoves exchanged between the two, it’s clear that they both don’t like each other, and this short interaction could help in the building of a big fight between them. Recently, Masvidal said that if he had to choose between a title fight with Usman or a big money fight against Conor McGregor, he would pick Usman, because he will “break his face” in their fight.
Since those comments, Usman has responded to Masvidal saying that “Gamebred” is doing everything he can to avoid a fight with the champion, and then said he was the one who would be breaking faces in the Octagon. Now that there is an altercation on video, the UFC should have no problem building up a fight between the ‘BMF’ champion and the UFC’s welterweight champion.
