Why Rapper Drake Will Curse Israel Adesanya Ahead of UFC 305 Tonight
Will rapper Drake spoil it for Israel Adesanya tonight at UFC 305?
A website has compiled a data study of all 66 of rapper Drake’s $29M public sports bets since 2022 to determine whether they could prove the infamous ‘Drake Curse’.
Drake bets on UFC more than any other sport (there have been nine). Over 21 bets he has wagered $11.8M, returning $12.6M. He’s currently $804,640 up all-time from his public UFC bets. He’s won 8 out of 21 bets and lost 13 times, giving him a strike rate of 38%. His average UFC bet size is $532K.
His largest single-bet victory ($1.45M) in any sport was successfully predicting that Jon Jones would submit Ciryl Gane at UFC 285. Drake’s biggest sports bet loss of all-time (-$1.59M) was incorrectly predicting that Israel Adesanya would beat Alex Pereira at UFC 281.
Three UFC Athletes have been officially affected by ‘The Drake Curse’ from his bets where he lost money betting on a favorite: Aljamain Sterling, Israel Adesanya (x2), and Sean Strickland. Izzy could claim to be the biggest victim of the Drake curse, having lost twice as a favorite after being backed. However, he has won 3 other bets on Adesanya, meaning he’s slightly in profit ($15,248) from nearly $4M of bets on the New Zealand MMA Star.
With 4 out of 7 official curses, UFC fighters should be the most nervous if they receive a pre-fight Drake endorsement.
