With win over Faber, Edgar enters pound-for-pound rankings
The UFC updated their rankings following this weekend’s UFC Fight Night event in the Philippines. Frankie Edgar (19-4) is now on a four-fight winning streak after defeating Urijah Faber in a five round war. Edgar, the former UFC lightweight champion not only put himself next in line for a potential featherweight title shot against the winner of Jose Aldo vs. Conor McGregor, he also made it to the UFC top 15 pound-for-pound rankings.
Entering UFC Fight Night’s main event against Faber, Edgar was not ranked in the pound-for-pound rankings. The win has notched him now at #14. In the featherweight rankings, Edgar still sits at number two, behind number one ranked Chad Mendes, who won over Ricardo Lamas on April 4th’s UFC Fight Night event.
