WSOF 17 Results – Shields submits Foster early
WSOF 17 Results
World Series of Fighting (WSOF) 17 was held Jan. 17 at the Axis Theater inside Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas with the main card on NBCSN at 9 p.m. ET.
The WSOF’s latest offering included a key welterweight matchup between UFC veterans Brian Foster (22-6) and Jake Shields (30-7) in the main event. Shields worked to eliminate the striking early on and got the fight to the ground where he submitted Foster via rear-naked-choke in the very first round.
In the co-main event, late replacement Joe Condon was being dominated by Las Vegas native, Johnny Nunez for two and a half rounds before bouncing back in the final minute, turning the tide and submitting his opponent much to the surprise of everyone in the Axis Theater.
