WWE wishes Phil Brooks (aka CM Punk) the best of luck in his newest endeavor
There were two title fights on the night at UFC 181 this past weekend but the biggest news might have come in the form of former WWE superstar CM Punk signing a contract with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
The announcement came after the first fight on the pay-per-view portion of the card and although Punk whose real name is Phil Brooks said there is no set date as to when he will compete in action and is yet to identify which weight class or training camp he is competing at and training with the former WWE champion has acknowledged that this is something he has wanted to do for quite some time.
Brooks left the WWE on “bad terms” earlier this year and states that he was fired on his wedding day. UFC President Dana White has said on the record before the signing that he was open to signing the star should the opportunity arise.
While the WWE did not had no contractual obligations to recognize Brooks or his new endeavor on any level they did appear to let bygones be bygones and wished him luck.

Of course the new endeavor “the UFC” was not mentioned. Why would the WWE give the UFC any acknowledgement?
UFC commentator Joe Rogan also wished Punk “good luck” at the conclusion of the announcement to which Brooks replied “Luck is for losers,” a phrase which he has tattooed on his arm.
