Youssef Zalal steps in to fight Seungwoo Choi on Feb. 6
Youssef Zalal will now fight on the UFC’s Feb 6 on nine days notice.
Collin Anglin has been forced out of his scheduled fights with Seungwoo Choi and with Anglin out of the fight, Zalal will step in on short notice. MMA DNA was first to report the news.
Zalal (10-3) and Choi (8-3) were originally scheduled to fight one another in October, but Choi withdrew from the fight for undisclosed reasons. Despite Choi pulling out, Zalal remained on the cared and faced UFC newcomer Ilia Topuria, who handled Zala his first loss in the UFC. Prior tot the loss, Zalal started his UFC career 3-0. All four of his fights came in 2020.
Choi got off to a tough start in his UFC career as he lost his first two UFC fights to Movsar Evloev and Gavin Tucker. After starting 0-2, Choi rebounded to beat Suman Mokhtarian in December 2019. Zalal is now Choi’s third opponent change for Feb 6. He was first booked with Steven Peterson.
