#12 NC State vs. #16 UNI: Day 2 Dual Finals – Live Results
The second day of the Collegiate Duals 2.0 is underway and two champions will be crowned. Out of the red pool, #12 NC State and #16 UNI emerged above the rest and will be going head to head for the championship. The championship matches start at 6PM EST.
NC State started the day off yesterday with a one sided win over Cal Poly, winning that dual 33-3. NC State’s Trumble won his bout via fall at 4:30. Trent Hidlay also came away with a 11-4 win over Poly’s Kemp. In their second dual, the NC State team comfortably beat Lehigh 24-10 as well.
NIU was the team of the day during day one of the duals. With a loud and proud crowd that traveled across the country, UNI defeated Lock Haven easily with a 36-3 win. UNI’s Happel took his bout at 141 by fall. The big upset, however, was in UNI’s second match against #3 ranked Ohio State. That event went down to the wire and in the end, UNI took the dual by a score of 19-13 with their big crowd with them until the end.
NC State and UNI both have several great wrestlers with the potential to make a big run at the NCAA Championships in March!
