2022 PFL Playoffs – Lightweight and Light Heavyweight Results

2022 PFL Playoffs: Lightweights and Light Heavyweights airs live this Friday, August 5th starting at 6:00 PM ET on ESPN+, the action continues on ESPN at 7:00 PM ET.

The Professional Fighters League opens the 2022 PFL Playoffs with semifinal matchups in the Lightweight and Light Heavyweight divisions tomorrow, Friday, August 5th from Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden, New York City. Headlining the card will be American Anthony “Showtime” Pettis taking on Scotland’s Stevie “Braveheart” Ray in a lightweight semifinal bout.

Pettis, who came in at 155.6-pounds, finished the regular season as the top seed in the lightweight division. Showtime will try to even the score in this must-see rematch against Ray, who came in at 155.8-pounds. Ray scored an upset over Pettis at PFL 5 to clinch the number 4-seed in the playoffs.

In the co-main event, Omari Akhmedov will face undefeated Josh Silveria in a Light Heavyweight semifinal contest.

Akhmedov, who came in at 204.6-pounds, earned the second seed in the Light Heavyweight bracket following stoppage victories over Viktor Pesta and Teodoras Aukstuolis. Silveria, meanwhile, came in at 206-pounds, and finished the season as the number 5-seed on the strength of his first round knockout of Marthin Hamlet in his only Regular Season fight. He gets his opportunity in the semifinals after stepping in for the injured 2021 Champion Antonio Carlos Jr.

In the other Lightweight semifinal pairing, number 2-seed Olivier Aubin-Mercier of Canada (155 lbs.) meets number 3-seed Alexander Martinez of Paraguay (156 lbs.).

Meanwhile on the other side of the Light Heavyweight bracket, top seed Rob Wilkinson of Australia (205.8 lbs.) takes on number 3-seed Delan Monte of Brazil (205.2 lbs.).
