Adam “Maverick” Assenza of BTC Fight Promotions: “Goal is UFC”

Adam “Maverick” Assenza joined the Carroll’s Corner MMA Podcast to discuss his goal of becoming a UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) fighter. Assenza is a native of Ontario, Canada and is the marquis fighter for BTC Fight Promotions.

BTC Fight Promotions is based out of Burlington, Ontario, Canada. BTC Fight Promotions is currently the largest professional fight promotion in Ontario, Canada with an average of four shows a year. In addition to the four shows a year, they host a fashion show and an annual awards show in January.

Assenza (12-6), is currently coming off two victories at BTC 8 and BTC 9. According to Tapology, the “Maverick” is Currently ranked No. 1 in the professional lightweight division in Ontario. Assenza is ranked No. 4 in Canada as a lightweight, respectively.

During the interview, Assenza explains how his training is bringing him to another level and he’s ready to make that leap into the UFC. The UFC is the Canadian’s ultimate goal. He believes capturing the BTC title once again will elevate him receiving the highly coveted phone call to the “bigs.”

The largest professional fight league in Ontario considers Assenza a marquis fighter. On a two fight win streak, Assenza is back in title contention.

Assenza also spoke about life during COVID-19 and how training was effected on a daily basis.
