On Wednesday, May 11, Alesha Zappitella will vie for her second championship in her second weight class within the Invicta Fighting Championship organization. She’ll take in none other than reigning champion, Emily Decote in the main event of Invicta FC 47.

The former Invicta FC Atomweight champ, Zappitella is fully ready, capable, and knows the task that she has ahead of her.

“I want to be in Invictas’ first-ever 2-way champion,” she claims while talking to MyMMANews. Stepping up in weight for the straw-weight title, “I’ve been wanting to make the jump up for about 3 fights now, Zappitella.  Clarifying, “Since before I won the atomweight title with Invicta.”

“In training I always feel better when I’m heavier,” Zappitella explains. “I know how to use my weight and I know strength,” she says.  Emphasizing, “once all of that’s gone, it really does change my game a lot!”

With a new challenge in a new weight class, Zappitella is more than eager to seize the opportunity. “Maybe on paper, she looks a little bit better than I do, but I know what I have to bring to the table,” Zappitella says.

“I’ve fought girls who are similar to her,” Zappitella says. “I don’t think they that she brings anything to the table that I’ve never seen before.”

Boldly predicting, “I am going to TKO her on the ground” to capture the Invicta FC Strawweight championship.
