Alex Rios on the Rise: I’m excited to show you guys what else I can do”

Tune in below to watch the entire interview with MyMMANews and Alex Rios following his impressive win over Vincent Totaro at RFL 3.

New Jersey has a homegrown fighter on the rise in the name of Alex Rios.

Rios, born and raised in Pompton Lakes, N.J., fancied martial arts from a young age.  Harnessing all of his natural born skills and intertwining them with traditional training was his only logical choice, evolving him into the undefeated fighter he is today.

On Saturday, October 28, Rios cemented his second straight win inside the mixed martial arts cage when he took out Alexander Puskas via D’arce Choke, merely forty-five seconds into the very first round at MMA Pro League: Team Showdown.  Just two weeks prior, Rios made his MMA debut when he needed a little more than a minute to impressively take out Vincent Totaro at RFL 3 via armbar.

“After these last two wins I feel like I’ve got good momentum,” Rios says.  “I’m well aware that the guys are only going to get tougher from here,” he acknowledges.

With two wins coming in the first round via submission, one could speculate Rios’ amazing grappling prowess blueprints a gameplan for his opponents to stand up with him…However, before stepping into the cage to begin his MMA career, Rios remained undefeated in his amateur kickboxing career, with one win coming by way of TKO.

“I’m well aware that the guys are only going to get tougher from here, so the margin for error is going to get smaller and smaller, and I welcome the challenges that come with that,” Rios acknowledges and confirms about the challenges that await him in the future.

The future is bright for Alex Rios, who has started his amateur career off with a bang and shows no signs of slowing.  Eager to get back in the cage as soon as possible, he says.

“I’m excited to show you guys what else I can do; I’ve only got about 3 minutes of fight time so I can’t wait for you guys to see me with 10 or 15 minutes of fight time.”

“Just know that I’ll be 100% chasing that pro debut in the next few months with all I got!”

Tune in above as Alex Rios joins MyMMANews following his impressive win over Vincent Totaro at RFL 3.  He discusses how his bout played out with Totaro, jumping right back into camp for a fight against Puskas two weeks later, and he fills us in on his goals inside of the cage!
