Alexey Oleynik calls for Stipe Miocic as next fight
Alexey “The Boa Constrictor” Oleynik is looking to ride his current momentum and get a big-name opponent for his next fight. As first reported by Ariel Helwani of ESPN, Oleynik would like to face former heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic who is looking to return after losing his title to Daniel Cormier at UFC 226.

While Miocic has taken to social media to let his frustrations be known that he wasn’t awarded a rematch with Cormier, Oleynik has reportedly offered to fight Miocic if he is indeed looking for a fight. Riding a two-fight win streak, most recently over Mark Hunt, Oleynik is looking to capitalize on his momentum and would certainly climb to the top of the division if he were to beat Miocic if a fight was made between the two.
Oleynik also took to Twitter to let his intentions be known, telling Miocic that they both “don’t like to talk and don’t mud their opponents”.

Hey Champ @stipemiocic let's do this.We both don't like to talk,we both don't mud our opponents, we're both warriors@danawhite @Mickmaynard2 – show must go Мы оба не поливаем соперников грязью, мы оба не любим болтать,мы оба воины.Давай сделаем это #ufc #mma #sport pic.twitter.com/xfEVETCjeb— Alexey Oleynik (@oleynikufc) October 18, 2018
Miocic has gone back-and-forth on Twitter with Cormier as he was looking for the rematch, even going as far as to say that he offered to fight Cormier at UFC 230 on November 3 and that “9 times out of 10, I win that fight against Cormier”.
9 times out of 10 I beat DC. Everyone knows it. DC knows it. No heavyweight has ever accomplished what I have. #HWGOAT pic.twitter.com/ca7DDpHTOK

One time is fluke. I broke the record for most consecutive HW title defenses. @dc_mma that’s why you ducked me Nov 3. I guarantee things end differently next time. #HWGOAT pic.twitter.com/911KCwlfpN

Cormier has openly said that he is not ducking a rematch with Miocic but he wasn’t going to take the rematch fight on short notice while he was still recovering from a hand injury. As Cormier is scheduled to fight Derrick Lewis at UFC 230, Alexey Oleynik would like the former champion Miocic, whenever he is ready to return according to the initial report.
There has been no response from Miocic on the call-out from Oleynik as of yet. The other top-ranked heavyweight fighters Curtis Blaydes and Francis Ngannou are facing each other in November, while #2 ranked Derrick Lewis is facing Cormier, and really leaves Miocic without a potential opponent for now.
If he’s looking for a fight, Oleynik is more than willing to welcome Miocic back, but there is certainly a possibility that Stipe Miocic waits out for the top of the division to face each other and then chooses who he’d want next in his return.
