Aljamain Sterling

Aljamain Sterling issues Apology Form: “I’m going to need y’all to fill this out”

Last night’s UFC 273 event was a night full of fantastic bouts, one of which saw UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling defend his title against former undisputed bantamweight champion Petr Yan.

In the lead-up to the fight, there was a rage of controversy surrounding the fashion in which Sterling first one the belt. In the first matchup between the two, Yan lost his belt to Sterling by way of disqualification.

Following Sterling’s DQ win at UFC 259 last year, he has fallen victim to a lot, and I mean a lot, of criticism.

In the lead-up to this fight, Sterling repeatedly told the media that he is going to “prove them wrong,” and prove them wrong he did.

Despite UFC president Dana White stating that he scored the bout for Yan, Sterling won the bout fair and square, ultimately winning by way of a split decision (48-47 x2, 47-48).

Following the win, Aljamain Sterling went on Twitter to tell fans that he is now accepting apology letters.

He states, “I’m going to need y’all to fill this out and hand it in to me by the end of the workday.”

Since the post, fans, and fighters of the likes of Derek Brunson have signed and posted the form.

However you scored the fight, it is time to put some respect on his name. He is, after all, the undisputed UFC bantamweight champion.
