Brucki was an All-American at 197 for Princeton. He wrestled to a 21-5 record and was the fifth ranked 197er going into the tournament before the season was canceled due to COVID-19.

Patrick Brucki underwent two hip surgeries and intended to redshirt his senior season and return in 2021. Him sitting out a year recovering will be great timing as he moves over to Michigan. Brucki will graduate with a degree in engineering before moving over to Michigan.

Patrick Brucki and Princeton

Brucki was very accomplished at the University of Princeton. He wrestled to an 82-18 record and qualified for the NCAA tournament all three years with the program

Brucki was part of a very talented Princeton wrestling team with All-Americans Pat Glory and Quincy Monday.

Brucki announced in July that he had entered the NCAA transfer portal. There was no bad blood between Brucki and Princeton. Brucki just felt led to wrestle his final season elsewhere where he can improve to the best version of himself he could be.

He joins a Michigan team that’s even deeper than Princeton. The 2020 team boasts the talents of Jack Medley, Stevan Micic, Kanen Storr, Will Lewan, Cameron Amine, Logan Massa, Myles Amine, and Mason Parris. Adding Brucki to the team will provide leadership and more depth to the Wolverines wrestling team.

As mentioned earlier, Brucki will sit out next season, pandemic or no pandemic, and will return for 2021 to wrestle for the Michigan Wolverines. His redshirt year will allow him time to heal from his hip surgeries and come back full force in his red shirt senior year.
