Alonzo Menifield, Greg Hardy earn UFC contracts on Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series
Season 2 of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series kicked off once again on UFC Fight Pass, June 12. The fights which place in front of UFC President Dana White and matchmakers Sean Shelby and Mick Maynard are filmed at The Ultimate Fighter Gym in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Two former NFL defensive linemen in Greg Hardy and Austen Lane went toe-to-toe in a heavyweight contest. Hardy, who has been the center of controversy as a result of a domestic dispute, knocked Lane out less than one minute into the fight. White felt that Hardy’s big right hand was enough to give the fighter a developmental contract with the UFC, meaning he will likely fight once more in a feeder organization before stepping up to the UFC.
Also, Alonzo Menifield made extremely quick work of Dashawn Boatwright, getting the finish just eight seconds into the fight. Menifield was awarded a UFC contract for his quick win.
