Amanda Nunes rebooked against Megan Anderson for UFC 259
Amanda Nunes and Megan Anderson will meet in a featherweight title fight after all. ESPN reported that the two have been rebooked for UFC 259 on March 6.
The UFC originally scheduled the fight as the main event for UFC 256 on Dec. 12, but Nunes pulled out of the fight due to an injury.
Nunes (20-4) is considered the great women’s mixed martial artist of all time. Right now she hold the UFC bantamweight and featherweight titles. In lone UFC loss came to Cat Zingano in September 2014. Since then Nunes has been dominate and has won 11 fights in a row.
The last time Nunes stepped in the octagon was over the summer at UFC 250 in June when she made the first title defense of her featherweight title. She battered Felicia Spencer in that UFC 250 matchup by winning every single round with ease.
Anderson (11-4) is a former Invicta FC featherweight champion and has a 3-2 record within the UFC. She made her debut against Holly Holm in 2018 and Holm won the fight by decision. She also has a loss to Spencer, but she did pick up a win over Zingano. Anderson is currently on a two-fight winning streak.
