Andrea Lee previews her upcoming fight against Cynthia Calvillo
Andrea Lee has been working hard over the past six weeks in preparation for her Nov. 13 fight date. That’s why when she found her opponent Jessica Eye withdrew from the fight due to health issues, Lee was alright with accepting a new opponent on three weeks notice.
Lee (12-5) will now face Cynthia Calvillo (9-3) in a big time flyweight bout at UFC Vegas 42.
Calvillo, who is currently ranked at No. 5 in the official UFC flyweight rankings, is coming off back-to-back losses against Katlyn Chookagian and Jessica Andrade. Meanwhile, Lee, who is ranked at No. 12, just snapped a three-fight losing streak by submitting Antonina Shevchenko at UFC 262.
Ahead of the fight, Lee spoke with MyMMANews about her excitement for the matchup. She believes the fight should be a fun one for the fans and she’s excited for the chance to try and knock off an opponent ranked in the top five of the division as it would help her climb the rankings.
Aside from talking about the matchup with Calvillo, she also discussed her political viewpoints as she has been very vocal with voicing her concerns for the country on her social media.
