Andrea Lee talks UFC 298, birthday celebration and pressure

Andrea Lee just celebrated her birthday on Sunday before she head to Anaheim Calif. for her UFC 298 fight against Miranda Maverick.

The celebration was nice, but it was also quite and healthy as she couldn’t couldn’t binge on any foods or alcohol with her fight being days away.

Lee didn’t mind any of that, because she’s planning on taking in a big celebration following UFC 298 as she plans to celebrate her birthday and a big win.

Lee is very familiar with Maverick as an opponent because the two have trained together in the past.

When looking back on those sparring sessions, Lee has nothing but respect for Maverick and she knows she’s in for a fight this Saturday night, but its a fight that she believes she has a good chance of winning.

Maverick presents a heavy grappling presence and Lee thinks if she can keep the fight on her feet that she will get her hand raised.

A win would be great for Lee as she admits she’s feeling some pressure as she’s lost her last three fights.

Her career has been filled with split decision losses and there has been some moment of frustration with that, but Lee’s hoping all those days are behind her and this will be the moment that things get turned around.

Prior to UFC 298, Lee spoke with MyMMANews to discuss her upcoming fight, the pressures of coming off three losses and her recent birthday. You can watch her full interview in the video above.
