Antonio Trocoli (12-3-1) was set to make his UFC debut this Saturday at UFC 282, but was not only forced off the card, but also out of the promotion.
“Malvado” Trocoli, the 32-year-old mixed martial artist from Brazil was slated to face Ovince Saint Preux at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The promotion is actively seeking a replacement to fight Saint Preux and keep him on the card.
Trocoli was forced out of the card due to visa issues. He was also released from the promotion after being pulled from the lineup, according to a report from MMA Fighting.
Trocoli earned his spot on the UFC roster on Dana White’s Contender Series back in 2019 after submitting Kenneth Bergh in the first round. His troubles then began when Trocoli failed a drug test and popped for nandrolone, a steroid on the banned substance list. The fight was also overturned to a No Contest. He then returned in November of 2021 – over two years later – and scored a submission win on the Brazil regional scene.
If a replacement fighter is found on short-notice it will be the fourth opponent scheduled for Saint Preux. Philipe Lins and Alexander Gustafsson were both previously named opponents who were forced off the card.
The event will be headlined by a vacant light heavyweight title fight between Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev.
