Arthur Jones, former NFL player and brother of Jon Jones, passes away
Arthur Jones, 39, a former NFL player and brother of former UFC light heavyweight and heavyweight champion Jon Jones, has passed away.
The professional football defensive end who played eight seasons in the National Football League (NFL) was best known for his time with the Baltimore Ravens, where he contributed to their Super Bowl XLVII victory in 2013 over the San Francisco 49ers, recording a sack and a fumble recovery in the game.

Ravens’ general manager, Eric DeCosta, described Jones as having a “big, bright smile, infectious energy, and eternal positivity” that uplifted everyone around him. Tributes from the NFL community highlighted his kindness, family devotion, and role in the Ravens’ championship defense.
Arthur was the eldest of three athletic brothers: middle brother Chandler Jones (four-time Pro Bowl defensive end for the Patriots, Cardinals, and Raiders) and youngest Jon Jones (UFC).
Jones passed away on Friday, October 3. A cause of death has not yet been released.
