I’m told her recovery could be anywhere between 3-9 months.
ESPN spoke with Ladd’s manager, Dave Hirschbein, who said Ladd will find out on Tuesday whether she will require surgery.
Aspen Ladd (9-1) is one of the top bantamweight fighters in the world. Right now she is ranked No. 3 in the world but the official UFC rankings. In her last outing, she picked up a third-round TKO win over Yana Kunitskaya. Her lone loss came against former UFC featherweight champion Germaine de Randamie.
The UFC is currently working to find a late replacement to fight McMann, but at this time they have not found one. McMann (12-5) is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Lina Lansberg in January. McMann fought for the UFC title in 2014, losing to UFC legend Ronda Rousey. She also has losses to former UFC champion Miesha Tate and current UFC bantamweight and featherweight queen Amanda Nunes.
UFC on ESPN 12 will take place at the UFC APEX in Las Vegas and the event will be headlined but a lightweight bout between former interim champion Dustin Poirier and Dan Hooker. The card will also feature a welterweight fight between Mike Perry and Mickey Gall in the co-main event.
