Bellator 251 will take place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The card airs live on CBS Sports Network.
Originally expected to fight Chris Curtis, Vanderford (9-0 MMA, 3-0 BMMA) now faces former LFA welterweight title challenger and current CES MMA champion Vinicius De Jesus in a middleweight bout.
Vanderford last competed in November 2019, when he defeated Grachik Bozinyan by unanimous decision at Bellator 234. He also competed in multiple grappling matches and was set to return at Bellator 246 in September but was forced out after he tested positive for COVID-19.
