Austin Vanderford: Excited to “put hands on” Fabian Edwards

In the main event, Bellator women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg (23-2 MMA, 2-0 BMMA) is set to rematch Leslie Smith (12-8-1 MMA, 2-2 BMMA) in a first fight from UFC 198 in May 2016, which the Brazilian won convincingly by TKO in just 81 seconds. The co- main will see former champion Darrion Caldwell will be in action when he rematches Leandro Higo.
Austin Vanderford (10-0) is days out from his biggest test to date when he meets Fabian Edwards at Friday night’s Bellator 259 event.

Austin Vanderford Interview:
Lenny: “You announced this fight on Instagram using a caption called, Mr. VanZant vs Leon Edwards brother”
Austin responded; “He wanted to start the narrative of all that…but i wanted to remind him that, buddy you are Leon Edwards’ little brother…so lets not forget about that.”
Vanderford response when asked how he feel and how camp went:
“Yeah I feel great” he stated “camp has been awesome…its been a tough one i am tired I’m ready to start scaling back a little bit… we are peaking at the right time”
“I’m going to rest and get the weight down and wait for the 9 days to fly by so i can get my hands on him”
Austin Vanderford believes this is his hardest fight of his career:
“Yes this is my hardest fight…but I’m in the mindset of that my next fight is my always the biggest fight of my career and I’ve got to go out there and prove myself every time.”
His thoughts on the matchup with Fabian Edwards:
“Fabian is another opponent.. he brings a certain skillset that we have worked on and we are going to go out and test it.”
“I never overlook any opponent..i take every fighter serious, Fabian is the same one – I’m laser focused and ready to go put my hands on him.”
