Bec Rodriguez ready to be bare-knuckle champion once again, even the score against Christine Ferea at BKFC 56
Back in April of this year, Bec Rodriguez (formerly known as Rawlings) fought champion Christine Ferea for the 125-pound title which had an anti-climatic ending. After a debatable doctor stoppage at the end of the second round, Ferea had another title defense credited to her name, and the stage was ultimately set for a rematch between the two.
That rematch will take place this weekend at BKFC 56 as Rodriguez will look to exact revenge on the former champion and once again become a champion herself. The former UFC fighter said she previously had a bitter taste in her mouth at the end of her UFC/MMA run, but after spending time bouncing between both sports, there is no question her heart is in bare-knuckle boxing and that’s where she wants to be and thrive, in a sport that she believes is made for her.
During her appearance for the ‘On The Mic‘ podcast, Bec Rodriguez discussed her upcoming rematch against Christine Ferea, what BKFC and bare-knuckle boxing has meant to her, and how her place in fighting can be a message to empower women all around the world.
Describing herself as a natural boxer, Rodriguez said she initially found bare-knuckle boxing from a message on Facebook the day she got cut from the UFC and once she looked into it, it was a no-brainer for her to make the move.
Watch the video below to hear Bec Rodriguez preview her fight against Ferea at BKFC 56 this weekend, open up about her empowering women all over the world, and how she found her calling in the bare-knuckle world.
BKFC goes down this Saturday, December 2, from Salt Lake City, Utah and will see former UFC fighters Mike Perry and Eddie Alvarez square off in the main event for the ‘King of Violence’ championship and it will be broadcasted on FITE TV.
