Belal Muhammad details testing positive for COVID-19; talks 2021 plans
Belal Muhammad was already to go for his fight with Dhiego Lima when he tested positive for COVID-19.
The No. 13 ranked welterweight contender packed his packs up to start getting ready for his flight to Las Vegas and then things started to go south. Muhammad woke up in the middle of the nights with chills and body aches. When he woke up he went to a rapid testing center in his hometown of Chicago and within an hour of getting the test he found out that he did have the virus.
As a result of the positive coronavirus test, his fight with Lima was scrapped from UFC Vegas 17 and now it’s up in the air as to whether or not the fight will be rescheduled for another date.
Right now Muhammad still has cough and he’s hoping to get over his sickness as soon as possible so he can return to the gym and resume training.
Muhammad discussed everything he’s going through with the coronavirus in an interview with MyMMANews.
Aside from COVID-19, Muhammad also talked about his position in the rankings and how he’s had to work hard just to get a number in front of his name in the rankings.
