Bellator 144 Results: Halsey vs Carvalho – LIVE PRELIM VIDEO STREAM

Bellator 144 took place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut today and the main card was televised on Spike TV beginning at 9 p.m.  You can view a live stream of the preliminary bouts here on

In the main event Brandon Halsey aimed to reclaim his middleweight title as he fought Rafael Carvalho.  Halsey was stripped of the title after missing his weight for his last defense against Kendall Grove by three pounds.  Halsey would start the fight off strong but Carvalho shocked the world when he defeated Halsey via a liver kick TKO.

The full Bellator 144 weigh-in results included:

MAIN CARD (Spike, 9 p.m. ET)

  • Rafael Carvalho defeated Brandon Halsey via TKO (liver kick) – Round 2, 1:42– for vacant middleweight title
  • Brennan Ward defeated Dennis Olson via TKO (strikes) – Round 1, 4:37
  • Goiti Yamauchi defeated Isao Kobayashi via submission (rear-naked choke) – Round 3, 3:50
  • Michael Page defeated Charlie Ontiveros via TKO (strikes) – Round 1, 3:20


  • Kin Moy defeated Walter Smith-Cotito via submission (rear-naked choke) – Round 3, 3:53
  • Billy Giovanella vs. Brandon Polcare – 130-pound catchweight – via submission (triangle choke) – Round 1, 2:19
  • Matt Bessette defeated Kevin Roddy via submission (heel hook) – Round 1, 3:47
  • Kevin Haley defeated Mike Zichelle via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)
  • Matt Secor defeated Jeremie Holloway via submission (heel hook) – Round 2, 4:54
  • Marius Enache vs. Pete Rogers – 150-pound catchweight – via submission (Americana) – Round 2, 2:37
  • T.J. Hepburn vs. Sam Watford defeated T.J. Hepburn via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-27)
  • Keenan Raymond vs. Damien Trites – 165-pound catchweight
  • Ilya Kotau vs. Kemran Lachinov
