Bellator 192 Results – Rampage vs Sonnen, Lima vs. MacDonald

Bellator 192 took place today at the Forum in Inglewood, California and was headlined by the opening of the organization’s heavyweight grand prix.  In the main event, Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson met Chael Sonnen.

The event was previously scheduled to be headline by the welterweight title clash between defending champion Douglas Lima and challenger Rory MacDonald.  The lineup was changed earlier in the week.

The event aired on the new Paramount Network following preliminary bouts on MyMMANews.com.  Paramount is the new home for Bellator, replacing Spike TV.

As predicted Chael Sonnen used his wrestling to take down and tire for the former UFC light heavyweight champion and move on to the second round of the heavyweight grand prix tournament with a unanimous decision win.

MacDonald would get battered and bloodied as per the norm in a Rory MacDonald fight but ended up winning a decision to capture his first major world title.

Former lightweight champion Michael Chandler will meet Goiti Yamauchi and wrestling prodigy Aaron Pico took on Bellator MMA newcomer and Marine Corps Veteran, Shane Kruchten.  It took only 37 seconds for Pico to put Kruchten away with a body shot.  Very impressive win.

Chandler put on a dominating performance en route to a unanimous decision win over Goiti Yamauchi.
