Weigh-ins for Bellator 198 will take place Friday, April 27th at 1PM CST/2pm EST. Saturday night’s fight card will be held at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.
In the main event, former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir meets former Pride Fighting heavyweight champion Fedor Emelenienko in the opening round of the Bellator MMA heavyweight grand prix. The winner of this bout will advance to meet Chael Sonnen at a later date. Sonnen defeated Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson in his opening bracket back in January.
Matt Mitrione defeated Roy Nelson in February to advance on the opposite side of the bracket. Nelson will have his shot to enter back into the tournament as an alternate as Bellator MMA President Scott Coker announced that the winner of the Nelson and Mirko ‘Cro Cop’ fight at Bellator 200 will serve as an alternate in the grand prix. Bellator light heavyweight champion Ryan Bader will meet former champion King Mo Lawal to complete the first round.
