Bellator 237 – Fedor vs. Rampage averaged 311,000 viewers

It may come as a surprise to some but last weekend’s Bellator 237 fight card on Paramount Network did less than desirable numbers for the promotion.  According to a report from Showbuzz, the Bellator Japan fight card headlined by a heavyweight bout between Fedor Emlianenko and Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson brought in 311,000 viewers.

The event which began at 10pm ET, came in as number 60 on the list of the ‘Top 100 Original Cable Telecasts: Saturday December 28, 2019.’

Bellator went up against the Clemson vs. Ohio State college football championship semifinals which drew 20,393,000 viewers.

Showtime Boxing’s Gervontis Davis vs. Yuriokis Gamboa fight drew 318,000 viewers for the card’s opening bout and the main event averaged 577,000 viewers.

To put into perspective how low the Bellator 237 ratings were, Dave Meltzer of MMA Fighting stated: “Bellator 233, headlined by John Salter vs. Costello van Steenis did 314,000 viewers on Nov. 8 from Thackerville, Okla. A show on a one-day tape delay from Tel Aviv, Israel that aired on Nov. 5, headlined by Linton Vassell’s win over Sergei Kharitonov, did 318,000 viewers.”
