Bellator 260: Mark Lemminger and Jason Jackson quotes

Bellator 260 goes down Friday, June 11th from Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The event broadcasts on Showtime. I spoke with Mark Lemminger and Jason Jackson ahead of their respective bouts on the latest Bellator MMA card.

Mark Lemminger and Jason Jackson

Lemminger spoke about getting in work at Chosen Few Gym and the importance of having a training partner also being featured on the event.

Jackson touched on his feelings in regards to this being Bellator MMA’s big event back with fans in attendance. Also, he spoke about his Sanford MMA teammates loving the music he plays and who the official gym DJ is.

Mark Lemminger excerpt

I’m noticing that Chosen Few Gym has some pretty solid representation on this card. You also have Alex Polizzi getting out there and ready for it.

What’s the vibe like in the gym when there’s multiple competitors preparing to compete on the same card? Does it compound, the motivation even further?

“Yeah, we’ve got a pretty solid group of guys at Chosen Few. We’ve got me and (Alex) Polizzi on the same card and we just had a couple other guys fight in Iowa on another promotion. The gym atmosphere, it’s been pretty good. A lot of guys in there working hard. So this was a good camp for us.”

Jason Jackson excerpt

Much has been made of the fans coming back for this Bellator show like what’s your level of enthusiasm with the fans being back in attendance?

“It’s alright because I competed more with the fans than without the fans.”

Anecdotally, I’ve talked to multiple fighters from Sanford MMA and they all seem to shout out the tunes you pick in the gym. Are you the official Sanford MMA DJ at this point and what’s the secret to laying down good tunes in the gym?

“Nah, Greg Jones is. Not me, Greg Jones. Definitely always reggae vibes.”
