Bellator MMA signs Ukrainian women’s featherweight Kateryna Shakalova
BELLATOR MMA today announced the signing of Ukraine’s Kateryna Shakalova (7-1), in a move meant to bolster the promotion’s women’s featherweight division.
Shakalova, 25, has looked sensational on the European MMA scene.
A decorated grappler who has earned accolades across numerous competitions, Shakalova has added four submissions and a knockout to her burgeoning MMA résumé.
She will join her countryman, BELLATOR welterweight champion Yaroslav Amosov, in representing Ukraine on the international BELLATOR stage.
Shakalova is riding a six-fight winning streak, the last two wins of which came by submission. She joins the sport’s premier featherweight division, which is currently ruled by WMMA legend Cris Cyborg.
