Georgi Karakhanyan, who was slated in the top 10 of the debuting Bellator rankings, was set to return to action at Bellator 259 against Adam Piccolotti (#7) on May 21st. His opponent was forced out due to injury, but Karakhanyan is hopeful, he may still find himself fighting in May just like originally planned by Bellator.
“Bellator told me to be ready,” Karakhanyan stated. “Maybe May 7th, maybe May 21st. Whoever gets injured, lot of good matchups on those two upcoming shows. All I can do right now is just stay ready.”
Bellator has already discussed a few names with Georgi, but as of now, no one has accepted a fight with the professional of 42 career fights.
“Kieffer Crosbie from Ireland,” Karakhanyan told MyMMANews. “He needed more time to fight me. Another kid, Alfie Davis from England talking some smack, I’d like to fight him. I guess he took on a different Russian fighter on the 21st. So I’m just trying to stay ready,” Karakhanyan continued. “Anything last minute, I told them to hit me up.”
