Pumped to announce my book is coming out this year. When Corona hit I needed projects to keep myself busy so I started on this! Took longer than I anticipated, but it turned out great. Hope you enjoy reading about my journey as much as I enjoyed living it https://t.co/XbxyQDnvcF pic.twitter.com/7Ju7TDyE7P

Through the years, Askren has been on quite the journey in the world of wrestling and MMA.
Not only is he a member of the Wisconsin Wrestling Hall of Fame, but during his wrestling career, he was a two-time NCAA national champion, three-time Big 12 conference champion, Pan-American champion, and a member of the 2008 Olympic team.
Following his wrestling career, Askren transitioned into MMA. In 2010, he defeated Don Hornbuckle for the Bellator welterweight championship. He would go on to become the ONE Championship welterweight champion in 2016 after defeating Nikolay Aleksakhin.
He made his long-awaited move to the UFC in 2019 where he went 1-2 before ultimately deciding to retire that same year.
Coming out of retirement just two years later, Askren competed in a boxing match in 2021 against Jake Paul, where he suffered a loss TKO in the first round.
Now, happily retired from combat sports he has been working on a book about his journey.
The book titled “Funky: My Defiant Path Through the Wild World of Combat Sports” focuses on just that. His incredible journey through the years.
The book is to be published by Permuted Press and distributed through Simon & Schuster.
The official release date is October 18th, 2022 but you can pre-order the book on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, Bookshop, Indie Bound, and Simon & Schuster.
