Bill Algeo steps in for injured CFFC champ, challenges Andy Main for interim strap
“Señor Perfecto” Bill Algeo makes his long awaited return to the CFFC cage as a replacement for an injured champion on December 17.
Algeo replaces title holder Jared Gordon against elite contender Andy Main for an Interim Title Bout at CFFC 62.
Algeo (8-2 MMA, 6-1 CFFC) is coming off back-to-back wins against Jeff Lentz and Anthony Smith.
Main earned the Pancrase MMA featherweight title in Japan in October, 2015 when he submitted Nam Phan.
This will be Main’s first fight with CFFC since CFFC 36 in 2014. We spoke with Main when his originally scheduled bout with Gordon was announced. “I’m excited to be fighting on American soil again,” Main said.
CFFC 62 is headlined by an incredible flyweight interim title bout between Sean ‘Shorty’ Rock Santella and Matt ‘SMG’ Lozano.
CFFC 62 takes place Saturday, December 17 at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.
