BKFC 17’s Ryan Jones discusses Robert Washington: “I’m ready to eat!”
In a matter of days, Ryan Jones will make his second walk to the squared circle when he takes on Robert Washington in “The Magic City” of Birmingham, Alabama for BKFC 17.
Jones, coming off of an impressive second-round TKO against Eric Thompson in his promotional debut, is “literally like a kid in a candy shop,” as he counts the days to make his sophomore appearance inside the BKFC ropes.
As the days wind down until fight night, Jones’ confidence grows while he is “counting down the days,” he says, expanding with, “I’m ready to eat!”
While Jones’ professional record may not be the most impressive, he certainly makes up for it with his grit, tenacity, and work ethic when the bell sounds. He started his pro career in mixed martial arts where he suffered several losses to predominant grapplers, mainly due to his opposition refusing to strike with the hard-hitting, Jones. “Now I get to show what it’s like to eat my punches and watch me take your punches,” He adamantly says. “I’m waiting to see someone that’s going to give me a good five-round fight.” Insisting, “I’m training like my life depends on it.”
Always the entertainer between his striking prowess and eccentricity, Jones plans on giving the fans something to keep a watchful eye on after he toes the line. “If I feel like I’m going to put him away first round, (I’ll put a) thumbs up in the first round. I might take a step back, (then give a) thumbs up and go after it,” he bluntly says. However, if the thumbs up doesn’t make an appearance, Jones assures his fans that it may just take a bit longer to figure his opponent out before trying to turn his lights out. “Either (I) get my ass whooped or I whoop his, Jones receptively says.
