BKFC Signs Olympic Medalist Nico Hernandez
Bare Knuckle FC has made another huge signing. This time they have snagged Nico Hernandez from the boxing world. Hernandez won bronze in the 2016 Olympics and has compiled a 7-0 record professionally.
Nico Hernandez will compete in the flyweight division at 122 pounds. His promotional debut is set for March 14th.
Hernandez says, “BKFC is doing some amazing things in combat sports”. “This is as real as it gets, and now I get to punch someone in the face without gloves. I can’t wait to fight for the fastest growing combat sports promotion in the world. When I step into the ring on March 14, the gloves come off!”
Nico Hernandez competed in the 2016 Rio Olympics. He went through fighters from Italy, Russia and Ecuador to win the bronze medal. Hernandez brings a fast paced approach to boxing that will be perfect for Bare Knuckle FC. Four of Hernandez seven wins have come by way of knockout.
Dave Feldman on Nico Hernandez
BKFC President, Dave Feldman, is also excited about this big signing. “We are very pleased to sign Nico Hernandez to a contract to fight March 14. Nico is very talented and always brings his aggressive style to the table. This indicates the direction we are going, by signing young stars with great potential. Nico is one of many great boxing signings we will have in 2020 for BKFC. We can’t wait to see what Nico delivers!”
While BKFC has had success with luring many MMA fighters to its ranks, the promotion has lagged a little behind with the boxers. Most notably, Paulie Malignaggi fought for the promotion last year, losing a decision to Artem Lobov.
Other boxing names to fight Bare Knuckle has been Jamie Campbell and Chris Sarro.
