Colin Parr (2-1) is excited about getting the taste of his first loss out of his mouth. He gets that opportunity this Saturday night, January 11 at Shamrock FC 327 at the Ameristar Casino in St Louis, Missouri when he matches skills with Daniel Jefferson (1-1) in the lightweight division.
MyMMAMews caught up with Colin as he finishes up his preparations and gets ready to rumble. When asked about his last fight which he lost via split decision and what he learned, Colin tells us….
“This is the best weight cut I’ve ever had. I’m lighter at this point before of any of my previous fights. I took that fight against Joshua Anderson on three weeks notice and I had to cut a lot of weight. I learned my lesson and was determined to be better from it. This camp I feel great and my team has me prepared and ready to get it done.”
Parr’s head coach is UFC veteran Kyle Watson who runs Watson Martial Arts in St. Louis. He hasn’t watched much film of Jefferson except maybe one fight he says. Parr is not a believer in heavy film study but is still confident that his coaches will have a winning game plan that he will execute. You can check out our full audio interview on the link below. When I asked Colin for his prediction on the fight he says..
“I’m going to get him out of there in the first round. I see a submission.”
Shamrock FC 327 has 13 scheduled MMA bouts and two kickboxing contests and will be broadcast on FITE. You can stream from there if you want to see if Colin can back up his first round submission call. Stay right here at MyMMANews for the best combat sports coverage on the planet.
