Bobby Green’s Next Fight – Three possible opponents
Bobby Green shocked many fans last night when he knocked out Grant Dawson in only 33 seconds. The fight was seen as a popularity builder for Dawson but Green had other ideas. Today we will look at three possible matchups for Green’s next fight which he wants in December!
Dan Hooker: Bobby Green and his team’s choice
After the fight, Bobby Green said he would be open to a matchup with Dan Hooker. In his post fight presser, Green stated that his coaches wanted him to face off with Dan Hooker and he would be fine with headlining the prelims on the stacked card.
The fight makes sense as does the timing. Hooker fought July at UFC 290 and Green got out last night without any injuries. After a tough 1-4 run for Hooker, he’s bounced back with two wins, a knockout over Claudio Puelles and a close split decision over Jalin Turner.
With Green having beat tenth ranked Dawson and Hooker being ranked ninth, it would be another step up for Bobby Green.
The long shot: Joel Alvarez
Joel Alvarez is another option for Bobby Green. With a 20-3 record, Alvarez has been electrifying in the UFC. A big sub threat and powerful hands, Alvarez and Green would be absolute fireworks.
Joel Alvarez is not ranked and that’s what makes this fight a long shot. Green will likely use his new-found ranking to fight up. Giving an unranked opponent a shot is something he may not do, especially when he is fighting for the money, as he says.
But giving Alvarez a shot is what Dawson did for Green. Why not make a banger of a fight to showcase both of these two fighters?
Not likely but still a banger: Renato Moicano
“Tell Moicano to suck it.” That was the words Bobby Green had for Moicano after being called out by the Brazilian. It’s obvious that Green isn’t keen on the matchup but that doesn’t make the matchup any less compelling.
Moicano is ranked 13 and wouldn’t be like giving an unranked Joel Alvarez a shot. Moicano also beat Brad Riddell in his last outing, an impressive win. He’s beat Alexander Hernandez, Jai Herbert, Cub Swanson, and Calvin Kattar. He has the resume.
It’s all about the want from Bobby Green. He will fight anyone put in front of him, as is apparent by his matchups with Islam Makhachev, Rafael Fiziev and others.
The fight he chooses will be fireworks. We, as fans, just need to be patient. Bobby Green will deliver.
