Bobby Green shocks with early stoppage of Grant Dawson in UFC Vegas 80 main event

The Ultimate Fighting Championship returned to us tonight, October 7, 2023, for UFC Vegas 80, going down live from the UFC Apex in Enterprise, Nevada.

Headlining the event was a lightweight affair between no. 10 ranked Grant Dawson (20-2-1) and longtime 155 lb staple Bobby Green (31-14-1).

Dawson came into the bout having gone 8-0-1 thus far into his promotional tenure, while Green came in off a submission victory over former interim champion Tony Ferguson.

Dawson opens up the bout with a couple wild overhand rights, missing on both attempts. Green then lands a stunning left hand that drops Dawson on the spot, following up with more punches on the ground for the early TKO stoppage.

Bobby Green improves his streak to two-straight tonight at UFC Vegas 80, and two solid wins these were.

Grant Dawson on the other hand suffers his first octagon defeat tonight; his lone defeat prior also came via TKO, that one just two seconds later at 35 seconds of round one.
