Bobby Gunn, former boxer and bare knuckle fighter, wanted for vehicular manslaughter
The New Jersey State Police are searching for former boxer and bare knuckle fighter Bobby Gunn, 46, who is being charged with vehicular homicide from an event that took place in Salem County, NJ on Sept, 2019.
Gunn, of Hackensack, NJ, allegedly drove under the influence and caused a crash in Pittstown according to police. Gunn is accused of driving his Dodge Ram pickup truck into the opposite lane, colliding with an Hyundai Elantra, killing Polly Tomari, 51.
Her husband, Robert Tonari, who was also in the car, was seriously injured.
Police suspect Gun was last seen in Maricopa County in Arizona in February. If anyone has information regarding Gunn’s current whereabouts, police are asking the public to call their Fugitive tip line line at 1-800-437-7839. Callers have the right to remain anonymous.
Gunn accumulated a 27-7-1-1 record as a professional boxer before retiring in 2017. He won the IBA Would Cruiserweight Title, WBC, WBA and IBC Intercontinental Cruiserweight Title.
He won his last two bouts by TKO against James Morrow and Gilberto Matheus Domingos in 2017. The back-to-back victories came after a TKO loss to Roy Jones Jr. for the WBF Cruiserweight Championship in February 2017.
In 2018, Bobby Gunn defeated Beato Costa Jr. by first-round knockout at Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship 1. He is also the former lineal world heavyweight champion.
