Booker T thinks Israel Adesanya is the biggest showman in UFC

Booker T is arguably one of the most-beloved, and entertaining pro wrestlers of all-time. Inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013, Booker’s accomplishments speak for themselves.

Booker is best known for his time in World Championship Wrestling (WCW), the World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment (WWF/E), and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), holding 35 championships between those organizations. He is the most decorated wrestler in WCW history, having held 21 titles, including a record six WCW World Television Championships (along with being the first African American titleholder), and a record eleven WCW World Tag Team Championships: ten as one half of Harlem Heat with his brother, Lash “Stevie Ray” Huffman in WCW (most reigns within that company), and one in the WWF with Test. Booker was the final WCW World Heavyweight Champion and WCW United States Heavyweight Champion within the active WCW organization.

Booker is a six-time world champion in professional wrestling, having won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship five times, and WWE’s World Heavyweight Championship once. With his fifth WCW Championship win (which occurred in the WWF), Booker T became the second African-American to win a world championship in WWF/E (after The Rock), and also the first to be of non-mixed race. He is also the winner of the 2006 King of the Ring tournament, the sixteenth Triple Crown Champion, and the eighth Grand Slam Champion (under original format) in WWE history. As the ninth WCW Triple Crown Champion, Booker is one of five men to achieve both the WWE and WCW Triple Crowns.

Recently, Booker attended UFC 276, where he shocked UFC middleweight champion and many others, when he was given credentials as “media” for the event. The famed professional wrestler asked Adesanya a question as the press conference, and the UFC middleweight champion couldn’t believe that he was being interviewed by one of his idols.

Booker was on Audacy’s 790 The Ticket (Miami) with Tobin & Leroy on Monday where he was asked about that experience. LISTEN BELOW.

“I’m humbled knowing that a kid like Israel Adesanya watched me growing up, and I inspired him,” Booker T said.

“I’m a wrestler you know. We’re all about entertainment. We’re all about showbusiness. Israel Adesanya might be the biggest showman in the UFC right now. You gotta go back a long ways, just to think about showmen in the UFC. They took that away from guys. Israel Adesanya is so special. He is able to generate both in the UFC. They are able to say, ‘we’re gonna let you do this, like coming out like the Undertaker.’ Nobody has done anything like that in quite some time in the UFC, so yeah, he is special.”
