Brad Riddell vs Jalin Turner booked for UFC 276
UFC 276 gets more and more exciting with a higher level of anticipation for the event as the days go on, and they continue adding stellar match ups to the card.
UFC 276, headlined by a middleweight title bout between Israel Adesanya and Jared Cannonier, co-headlined by a featherweight trilogy bout between Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway, is to go down at International Fight Week, July 2, 2022, at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada.
A lightweight bout showcasing Brad Riddell and Jalin Turner has also been added to the card.
Brad Riddell came to the UFC in 2019 with a record of 6-1 after a long and successful kickboxing career, where he went 59-8 and won a number of championships along the way.
He’d go undefeated inside the octagon through his first four bouts, defeating the likes of Jamie Mullarkey (UD), Magomed Mustafaev (SD), Alex da Silva (UD), and Drew Dober (UD).
However, Riddell would lose his next, and most recent bout to fellow former kickboxer Rafael Fiziev via TKO in round three, dropping his record to 10-2.
Jalin Turner on the other hand came to the UFC in 2018 with a record of 7-3, though he’d debut at welterweight, filling in on short notice to face Vicente Luque.
Man, what a tough debut opponent. Luque finished Turner off in the first round with relative ease, but Turner has rebounded beautifully, going 4-1 over his last five contests, improving his record to 12-5 in the process.
This showed him victorious over Callan Potter (TKO), Joshua Culibao (TKO), Brok Weaver (rear naked choke), Uros Medic (rear naked choke), and most recently, Jamie Mullarkey (TKO).
We’ve seen such remarkable improvements out of Turner over the last couple years, and with his frame, standing 6’3” with a reach of 77”, he’s going to be a tough go for just about everyone in the near future.
Riddell stands 5’8” with a reach of 71”, giving Turner half-a-foot advantage in that department. But, Riddell has dealt with that in the past a number of times himself.
