Brandon Cuttino: “Got to let him know that there are levels to the striking game”
In just a few short days, Delaware’s premier kickboxing promotion, Gut Check Championship Series returns to “The First State” for an action-packed pro/am card.
Sanctioned by the World Kickboxing Alliance, Gut Check Championship Series has been a staple for over a decade, matching some of the top-tier kickboxers in the region.
Tiger Schulman’s student and Glory kickboxing veteran, Brandon Cuttino will be one half of the main event, opposite of pro-MMA fighter, Anthony Dill.
Cuttino was originally slated to face Gary “The Silverback” Mack. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, Mack was forced to withdraw. Leaving a void for Dill to fill the open slot. Without hesitation, Cuttino and Dill came to terms to save the main event of the evening!
On paper, this bout is very intriguing. Cuttino primarily focuses on competing in kickboxing, while Dill is known for competing in MMA and grappling tournaments. Giving the fans two vastly different facets of combat sports culminating in the main event of the evening.
Cuttino had to dust off his gloves for this bout as he’s been on the sidelines for over two years on fight night. “This has been a long time coming. I haven’t stepped in the ring basically since 2019 so I’m really itching to go,” Cuttino says. With fight night nearing, “The Mechanic” delves into specifics while discussing his upcoming opponent.
“He’s an MMA striker. I’m a kickboxing striker,” Cuttino bluntly says about Anthony Dill. (I’ve) “Got to let him know that there are levels to the striking game,” Cuttino elaborates. “This is a different world out here,” Cuttino says addressing the differences in their striking dynamics. “That’s all I’m just thinking to myself. I just got to let him know, these are two different worlds,” Cuttino continues. “I get it. You want to get some experience standing up, but you’re about to get it with the wrong guy,” he confidently expresses.
