Brandon Moreno vs. Alexandre Pantoja 2 – Preview and Prediction

Brandon Moreno and Alexandre Pantoja have shared the octagon a few times now and on Saturday night, they will square off again in the co-main event of UFC 290.

Ahead of their fight, let’s do a preview and prediction which can also be seen in the video above.

Breakdown

The last time these two fought was in 2018 and Pantoja countered with straight shots that battered Moreno on way to a decision win.

Fun fact, they also fought on The Ultimate Fighter and Pantoja submitted the current champion.

We’ve seen this fight twice now and it doesn’t look good for the champion, but here’s another interesting stat.

Moreno was cut from the UFC following his loss to Pantoja and went on to win the title twice now. He’s also used to rematches at this point where as Pantoja has never had an official rematch on his professional record.

Tale of the Tape

Heavily favors the champion who is four years younger in his prime age of 29 and also has a height and reach advantage.

Oddsmakers

They have this once close, but they like Moreno.

DraftKings, FanDuel, Sports Betting, Bet MGM and Unibet all have their odds on the side of Moreno. It’s close to a pick ‘em fight, but Moreno does have a little wiggle room as he’s mostly coming in around -200.

Prediction

Big question is does Pantoja just have Moreno’s number?

In you think yes, go bet on Pantoja. That’d be a good bet considering he technically has two wins over him.

One thing to note though, is Moreno’s age in those fights. In 2018, in their last meeting, Moreno was just 24 years old.

Now Moreno has come into his prime and has never looked better. He absolutely a different fighter now than he was then.

Moreno finally gets it done. Moreno by decision.
