Brandon Royval meets Kai Kara-France at Sept. 26 UFC event

Brandon Royval will meet another member of season 24 of “The Ultimate Fighter.”

After submitting TUF 24 winner Tim Elliott at UFC on ESPN 9 this past May, Royval is slated to fight fellow flyweight Kai Kara-France at UFC’s event on Sept. 26. First reported by MMA Fighting, the location of the event is yet to be announced.

Royval is fresh off  a “Fight of the Night” bonus in his UFC debut victory over Elliott. The former LFA flyweight champion won his last three bouts by submission.

His most recent defeat was a unanimous decision loss to Casey Kenney at LFA 53 in November 2018. Kenney is 3-1 inside the octagon. 

Kara-France most recently beat Tyson Nam via unanimous decision at UFC on ESPN+26 on Feb. 22. He re-entered the win column after suffering his first octagon defeat, a unanimous decision loss to Brandon Moreno at UFC 245 this past December.

The loss snapped an eight-fight win streak, including three wins inside the octagon. Kara France was on Team Cejudo, where he was eliminated by Alexander Pantoja via unanimous decision in the quarterfinals.
