Brandon Sayles and Bruno Henrique Cappelozza PFL 6 quotes

PFL 6 takes place on Friday, June 25th, and broadcasts on ESPN+ and ESPN 2. The latest Professional Fighters League card emanates from Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey. I spoke with Brandon Sayles and Bruno Henrique Cappelozza at the PFL 6 Media Day ahead of their respective contests.

Sayles takes on Denis Goltsov in what is a high-stakes heavyweight main card fight.

Cappelozza collides with Mo DeReese in another heavyweight affair but one that transpires on the preliminary portion.

Brandon Sayles excerpt

With the last two fights there, you had a pretty pronounced gap between the fights. Almost three and a half years. Obviously didn’t reflect in the fluidity of the performance.

But I’m more so just wondering how you’re feeling heading into this one with just a much quicker, succinct kind of turnaround.

“I feel really good actually. Normally, in between fights I kind of put on more weight than I probably should. But that goes with living life, I guess. And so having a quick turnaround kept me very routined. Kept me disciplined to what we’re training for. Just more focused and more comfortable. Just because I kind of new stepping back into the bubble, what the surrounding area is going to be like.”

Bruno Henrique Cappelozza excerpt

There was the loss in 2018 to Jiri Prochazka and then there was a pretty pronounced delay of almost three years.

But then there’s the comeback victory, getting the stoppage in less than a minute, I’m kind of wondering how much relief there was getting back to the win column? Just with the spacing between the fights there.

“I’m extremely happy because at the end of the day this is not just a win for me, it’s a win for my fans. They’ve sacrificed a whole lot to let me pursue my dreams. And to make sure that I’ve got to where I am now. So I couldn’t be happier.”
